Our Member Groups:
American Legion Auxiliary Hammond-Schmit Unit 55
American Legion Auxiliary Hammond-Schmit Unit 55 is located in rural Hortonville, Wisconsin. We provide service and support to veterans, family members, and our community while supporting the goals and missions of American Legion Hammond-Schmit Post 55. In addition to troop support, some of our other unit efforts include: Youth Government Day, Badger Girls State, scholarships, Christmas fruit baskets for shut-ins, donations to King Veteran's Home. Key members fo our group include Marcella Suprise, unit treasurer and group trainer; Jeanne Rew, unit secretary and group inventory in clerk; Sylvia Suprise, honorary unit member, group customs form and inventory out clerk; and our director, Donna Nickel, unit second vice president, Americanism Committee Chairperson, National Security Committee Chairperson, and Liaison to the Appleton Military Support Group.Appleton Military Support Group:
Non-political support group established by a retired Army officer who wanted to meet the needs of support, information, and education for active duty family members who's loved ones were stationed away from home. Monthly meeting consist of speakers, exchange of helpful information, and sharing news about loved ones both deployed and Stateside. Supplies to fill boxes are shared when available. Limited funds are availabel to help members with postage expenses with proof of postage expense. Donations of cash and supplies for boxes are always welcome. The group's non-political policy is stressed regularly and strictly adhered to. Appleton Military Support Group meets the first Monday of each month at 7pm in the Army Reserve Center on Ballard Road in Appleton. Our president is Richard LaChapelle, our secretary is Lori Overesch, and our treasurer is Donna Nickel. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church:
Missouri Synod Lutheran Church located in Greenville, Wisconsin offering a variety of worship and service opportunities. Congregation consists of nearly 1,500 members, 2 full-time pastors, a Minister of Music and Christian Education, and various support staff. Our mission statement reads "To grow as a community of faith where people are welcomed warmly in Christ's name, equipped to grow in Christ faithfully, and sent to serve Christ fruitfully."
